The
headend equipment is the mainframe of the cable television
system. This is where the input from satellite signal,
local antenna, and other sources are combined, balanced
and amplified for distribution on a single cable. One
equipment rack measures 2' x 2' x 6 and requires 3' of
clearance for access in front and back. For longevity
of equipment the optimum temperature for the headend room
is 80 degrees or below.
